How Important Is Media In Our Lives?

Media plays a very important role in our lives today.It has proved to be a born to man kind.It increases an overall awareness of the masses.It inform us about what is happening around the world.Newspapers help people develop the habit of reading .Media contributes a lot the transformation in the cultural and social values of the people.Even it affects the way people think and react.It has given us a platform to express our opinion on all important issues.
      Media is a powerful tool of communication.It gives us news and views.It is through media that people express their views freely.That is why people feel attracted to it.Besides sharing information,it entertains us with many joyful and thrilling programes.It is usually divided into two forms i.e. print media and electronic media.It is through media that the world has become a global village today.It gives us information about all the important events happening thousands of miles away across the deep ocean.It will prove to be very useful if it plays a corrective role.It also increases our awareness about social and political issues.Oppressed and helpless people can express their views and opinions through media.It keeps an eye on every issue of life.It shares information through news,debates and talk shows.

The Menace Of Drugs

What are drugs?Why is there so much talks on them?Why do the people fall prey to them?Are narcotics called drugs?These are some of the questions witch are asked by many of us.The elders try to answer them,but not satisfactorily.
          In spite of the warning of the dangers and the effects of these drugs the number of addicts are going on increasing.About 1.5 million people are said to be the addicts of drugs,and have ruined their lives.It is an alarming situation.
           The drug addicted looks pale and intoxicated living in the fantasies ,forgetting every other thing.The drugs make him sleepish and woeful.His condition becomes miserable and unfit for all types of healthy activities.Opium,heroin,marijuana,hashish are the drugs that make the addict doleful.
           All these intoxicants have proved damaging for health.Heroin affects the brain and damages the nerve cells.A person addicted to it can neither think clearly nor work actively.
           A state of drowsiness takes hold of him.He takes drugs as the reliever of his tension,worries,anxiety and frustration.
            How are we caught in the net of drugs?Usually friends of bad company may offer their fellow maters or a drug pusher may give it free of cost in the beginning.Sometime it is available in the form of chewable stuff like sweet 'chalia' or 'sonf sapari'.
             Once one falls a victim,it is difficult for him to shake it off.The bright students are reduced to zero.Sole bread earners of family are ruined,unable to work and support their families.
           Therefore,something needs to be done for the survival and rehabilitation of the wretched wreck living in hopeless,dirty sack.Though there appears no hope of his survival but we must try our best to get him back to normal living.
           Government has set up rehabilitation centers in the big hospitals in almost all big cities for the treatment and rehabilitation of the addicts.cultivation tribal areas have been closed down.
          The smuggling of drugs has to be cheeked with an iron hand save the lives of innocent people.We have make people ware of the dangers of drugs by arranging seminars,speeches and walks in all cities and towns.
           We have to be strong enough to refuse the offer of a stranger and stop smoking.Like other countries the advertisement of cigarette on electronic media and newspapers have to be banned to save the children from this temptation.

Handicrafts Of Pakistan

    

   Every country has its own local crafts,which exhibit the taste and colour of its region.Pakistan is a country rich in culture.

Some areas have specialized in different crafts, which are supplied to other region .Within the province of Punjab ,different cities have their own specialties. Faisalabad specializes in cotton and hand woven fabrics.Lahore has brass items.

In Gujranwala pottery and hand-made items are produced.Sialkot specializes in cutlery,surgical,sports and stainless steel items.These are exported,and have a growing market abroad.Gujrat produces pottery,electrical.

Murree produces basketry and walnut wooden items.Ghakkar specializes in bedsheets,durries and khais.Baluchistan produces carpets jackets,and garments with glass work.In NWFP the city of Peshawar produces pottery.Dera Ismail Khan and Chiniot Produces wood carvings,decoration pieces and furniture.

Abbotabad and Dasu produce jewellery and warm clothing and Chitral is famous for woolen overcoats and caps.Azad Kashmir produces basketry,carpets and walnut furniture.''Ajrak'' and caps with silver and embreidery are made in Sind.

It is owing to the skills and hard work of our people that theses crafts have been preserved over the years.They have utilized the resources of their regions and by acquiring special skills have managed to produce goods,which have developed our cottage industry.

Handicrafts are also a part of the cultural heritage of a country.They represent the culture and traditions of the people.Old skills which have survived and developed, are the backbone of the cottage industry.These handicrafts,special in kind and unique in shape,are really the pride of a country.

How To Keep Our Town Clean

We must take steps to keep our town clean and tidy. We are Muslim and this is our faith that cleanliness is next to godliness.First of all we should start from our house.Boys and girls of school going age can be trained in this respect.They should be instructed how to keep clean their class room and school compound.In the recess period,they should be instructed to throw the peels in the dust-bin.The household wives should keep clean their homes and streets.Through T.V.and other media of instruction the men can be educated.Spitting here and there causes diseases. Peel of banana thrown on the road can cause a serious injury or even death.Clean city is a sign of civilization.Municipal committee,and corporation's staff remain busy in sanitation but it can not be achieved without the active co-operation of  the citizens.

It's not Pakistan's Fashion.

We are living in the age of fashion.The wish to look smart and up
-to-date is natural.this type of fashion is not harmful.But the craze to adopt the foreign culture is not a healthy practice.Quick communication has shortened the world.Exchange of fashion magazines with glamoured advertisements,film industry,garment factories and cosmetic agencies have fanned the fire.New generation is fully captured.They waste a lot of their time in choosing dress design,perfumes,footwear and house decoration. It has now become the part of fashion to avoid national language.Pakistan is an ideal State. It as own ideology and identity.We must keep this factor in mind while adopting any aspect of fashion.

China will builled coal power plant in sahiwal

(April 11 2014),The Punjab government and chinese companies among the Sahiwal  660-660 NW 2 advance coal power plants project finalized given.Recent visit to china during the Sahiwal on the project in May of work will be initiated .Coal power plants projects in the shortest time as possible to complete the program is built.Mean while ,chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif  addressed the members of his deegation in China said in Sahiwal Coal power plants projects has historical importance and one of the government's commitment to what we witness Pakistan has the power to remove the darkness he said the Punjab government to put new power projects as well as coal mining is working on plans for speeding. That time is not for when we succeed in creating local coal to produce electricity.Which will not only save precious foreign exchange but also will promote the mining industry Sahiwal. He planned coal power plants installation the good news for Pakistan and the people of Punjab has been great experts coal power plants in Sahiwal . Punjab plan to generate electricity  from coal would be the starting point for a wide program. this project will not only provide electricity to domestic customers but also for agricultural and industrial purposes and electricity.The project will contribute to the energy crisis.
